The Ozone Aging Chamber is a precision testing instrument designed to evaluate the ozone resistance, colorfastness, and aging performance of rubber, textiles, and other materials. By using a high-efficiency ozone generator combined with controlled airflow and a rotating specimen rack, you can simulate accelerated ozone exposure under precise temperature and humidity conditions. This allows you to quantitatively assess material durability and color retention in both low and high humidity atmospheres.

Applications

The Ozone Aging Chamber is used to test the colorfastness and aging properties of materials such as rubber, textiles, and fabrics when exposed to ozone. This instrument consists of an ozone generator, fan, baffle, specimen holder, and specimen chamber. The ozone generator utilizes a high-voltage transformer for grid discharge. The generator is positioned upstream of the low-pressure fan. The ozone generator injects ozone into the test chamber. The specimen holder features separable clamps mounted on a wire slip ring, accommodating specimens of various sizes.

Standards

GB/T 11039.3-2005 Textiles - Color fastness tests - Resistance to atmospheric pollutants - Part 3: Atmospheric ozone

ISO 105-G03:1993 Textiles - Colour fastness tests - Part G03: Resistance to atmospheric ozone

GB/T 7762-2014 Vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber - Resistance to ozone cracking - Static tensile test

GB/T 13642-2015 Vulcanized Rubber or Thermoplastic Rubber - Resistance to Ozone Cracking - Dynamic Tensile Test

AATCC 109-2016 Resistance to Ozone in Low-Humidity Atmosphere

AATCC TM129-2011(2016)e Test Method for Resistance to Ozone in High-Humidity Atmosphere

Features

High-Efficiency Ozone Generation: Ensures stable and uniform ozone concentration for consistent test results.

Closed-Loop Ozone Control: Automatically monitors and maintains the desired ozone levels during testing.

Rotating Sample Rack: Accommodates up to 24 specimens, ensuring uniform exposure to ozone.

User-Friendly Interface: Pre-set and current parameters are displayed on-screen for easy operation and monitoring.

Colorfastness Assessment: Simultaneously tests one specimen against a control standard to determine ozone-induced fading.

Flexible Environmental Simulation: Supports both low- and high-humidity ozone aging tests.

Test Procedures

1.Preparation: Verify the ozone generator, fan, baffles, and sample rack are clean and functional.

2.Sample Loading: Mount specimens and control standard on the rotating rack using stainless steel clamps. Ensure all samples are evenly spaced.

3.Parameter Setting: Input ozone concentration, rotation speed, temperature, and relative humidity via the control panel.

4.Test Initiation: Start the ozone generator and rotation system. Monitor ozone concentration and environmental conditions during the test.

5.Observation: During testing, compare the specimen against the control standard for color change. Repeat cycles as necessary until the target fading or aging criteria are achieved.

6.Completion: Stop the system, remove specimens, and record colorfastness or physical aging results for analysis.
